About the gym

A serious gym without the ego

Modern Martial Arts Center is Saskatoon's home for BANG Muay Thai and Infight Jiu Jitsu — a full-time academy where beginners, hobbyists and competitors all share the same mats.

We are an official affiliate of both BANG Muay Thai — the striking system developed and pressure-tested by Duane “BANG” Ludwig — and Infight Jiu Jitsu. That means our curriculum and belt ranking are the same used by the parent academies, not a local approximation of them.

Our members range from complete beginners looking for a fitter, less stressful week through to amateur and professional competitors. Classes are structured so those two groups genuinely coexist: technical instruction first, drilling second, and controlled live training for those who want it. Nobody is pushed into sparring before they're ready.

Kids train under the same standards. We follow the traditional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belt system and the BANG Muay Thai belt system so children have real milestones to work toward — and the discipline, focus and confidence that come with earning them.

Come by 235 Venture Crescent in Saskatoon, watch a class, and ask us anything. The first one is on us.
